More About Beth
The daughter of a Navy veteran, Beth’s family eventually settled down in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she grew up. She graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Wesleyan College and went on to earn her Master’s degree from George Mason University, focusing on risk and health communication. Beth’s research, which explored the experiences of families managing a parent’s cancer diagnosis, was published in both peer-reviewed academic journals and textbooks.
Driven by a desire to make a direct impact on families, Beth pursued a law degree at George Mason School of Law. During law school, she gained courtroom experience as a summer intern for the San Diego Public Defender and spent two years working at a Washington, D.C. law firm specializing in special education law and special needs trusts for children.
After law school, Beth relocated to San Diego, California, where she spent 14 years at Vaage Law. During her time there, she helped clients secure over $60 million in settlements and awards. In 2019, Beth won a $12.6 million verdict against the County of San Diego for a brain-injured client, one of the largest verdicts in the county’s history for jail-related injuries. The judgment was upheld on appeal, and Beth’s legal arguments in the case will benefit future victims of multi-defendant medical malpractice. In 2022, she secured a $25.6 million arbitration award against Kaiser for a brain-injured 9-year-old client, believed to be one of the largest awards ever obtained through the Kaiser arbitration system in California.
Community Involvement:
When not working, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. She actively volunteers at her children’s school and supports their budding interests in football and baton twirling.
